Gemma Gooch

Gemma is Head of Charities Distribution at Rathbones, a FTSE 250 company and leading UK charity investment manager. At Rathbones, Gemma is focused on developing new partnerships and relationships in the charity and endowment sector, ultimately enabling charities to provide a stable future for those that benefit from their vital work.

Gemma is passionate about building mission-driven programmes which jointly create business value and measurable societal impact at scale, combined with a personal interest in social entrepreneurship, education and the environment. She was previously Managing Director and Co-Head of Global Social Impact at BlackRock, and Co-President of The BlackRock Foundation where she led on strategic philanthropic partnerships in financial security and sustainability. Gemma was formerly Head of BlackRock’s dedicated Charities & Endowments Team. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2016, she was a Partner at NewSmith Asset Management responsible for marketing and business development and started her career as an Analyst at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.

Gemma holds an MA degree in Geography from St Catharine’s College, Cambridge. She has been a Trustee of The Girls’ Network Charity, a Community Governor of a local primary school and volunteers as a Funding Panellist with The Fore and Mentor with the King’s Trust.
