Chris Sherwood
Chris joined the NSPCC, the UK’s leading children’s charity in January 2025 from the RSPCA, the world’s oldest and largest animal protection charity, where he had been CEO since 2018. Prior to joining the RSPCA, he was CEO of Relate, the UK’s leading relationship charity – a role he was promoted into from the position of Director of Policy and External Affairs. He also led the ageing programme of work at Nesta, the UK’s innovation agency, for three years and was Director of Innovation and Development at the disability charity Scope.
Chris has more than 20 years of experience in the voluntary sector and is also a trustee of NCVO and is the Chair of The Charity Awards. Chris has previously served on a number of other boards including the World Federation for Animals, Eurogroup for Animals and the Centre for Ageing Better. In 2025, he was named as one of 101 LGBTQ Trailblazers by Attitude magazine.
