We were set up by William Booth, the founder of The Salvation Army to be the bank of The Salvation Army, we are still owned by this Christian church and registered charity to this day. Since 1890, we’ve worked with charities and not for profits of all shapes and sizes, so we have a pretty good idea what charities really need from their bank.

Our aim is to help you maximise your positive social impact.

When you choose Reliance Bank you get a specialist relationship manager who will take the time to understand your charity’s mission and goals. We only provide products that meet a genuine need. We always lend responsibly. And if problems do arise, we will listen and support you through difficult times.

We hope you’ll come to see us less as a bank and more as a partner, working alongside you to ensure your finances are managed sensibly, securely and for the benefit of your charity, your people and the world we live in.

Reliance Bank is a full-service bank, offering current accounts, savings accounts, mortgages and loans. But it’s also so much more than that. As part of The Salvation Army, our mission is to serve customers and communities with compassion and integrity.

We don’t see money as an end in itself, to be paid out in bonuses. But we do know that money has the power to change lives. In the right hands, it can be a force for good. That’s why we prioritise our business lending to organisations delivering positive social impact in the UK. And we donate up to 75% of our profits to The Salvation Army International, where it’s used to support their evangelical and charitable work around the globe.

For us it’s never just about making money. It’s about making money do extraordinary things…
