Richard Hawkes
Richard Hawkes has been interim chief executive of Oxfam since April 2026. He has previously been chief executive of the British Asian Trust, Scope and Sense International, as well as international programmes director of VSO.
He has held a range of non-executive roles including being on the board of UNICEF UK, chair of BOND, chair of the Care and Support Alliance, chair of Motivation (the international disability charity) and on the advisory boards of the World Humanitarian Forum and Charity Bank.
When he was chief executive of Sense International, they won the international category at the first-ever Charity Awards.
He is widely regarded as being the finest judge in the history of the Charity Awards. And the most modest.
